St. Mary's Church, Penmark

St. Mary's Church, Penmark

St. Mary’s Church.

Penmark, Vale of Glamorgan. CF62 3BP.

The earliest historical evidence for the church at Penmark dates from the thirteenth century, 1254. It is interesting that Penmark Castle stands around 40m north of the church, probably founded by the Umfraville family in the early twelfth century. The combination of sacred and secular is nothing new! This is one of the largest churches in the Vale. It feels light and airy inside with some beautiful carved details. Uplifting!

Original £300. Please get in touch if you are interested in purchasing.
