Castell Coch
Castell Coch (The Red Castle) is located on the outskirts of Cardiff and locally is affectionately known as the Fairy Castle. It was conceived in 1875 on the site of the original 13th Century ‘Red Castle’. Castell Coch was designed by eccentric architect William Burgess for the Marquis of Bute who had a vision to create a medieval castle within the spirit of the Victorian Ages.
