Title

khandroma

This piece blends together the tradition of constructing stone circles in Pre-Historic Western Europe with the Eastern idea in Tibet of the Khandroma – ‘Sky Dancer’. Presented here is a unification of the male symbol of the vertical ‘Sky Pole’ pointing towards the heavens, with the female stone circles symbolizing the earth, unity and nature. The ‘Sky Pole’ itself combines the colour gold, symbol of the sun, life – giver, with the silver of the mirror - fertility. The mirrors, which can symbolize the feminine side of our human nature, offer us the opportunity to reflect on our inner selves as well as on all the beauty we find around us.

Art is deliverance, even in suffering. But to those outcasts who do not appreciate freedom of thought, art is a crime.

Greatness lies in conception, in the eye, the heart, and the hand of the artist, and not in the geometric dimensions of the work.

Blessed artist, even if your art is one of misfortune, pick up your load and move along on your pilgrimage, following any road.

Georges Rouault.
